Service Description

If you don't live in the Big Country area, or our schedules do not aline for a Home Visit, this is the best option for you! I can help with breastfeeding issues, help you get a proper latch, walk you through next steps and answer all questions to the best of my ability. My goal is to help you gain confidence, encourage you, and find peace of mind during this adjustment period with your new baby. What to expect and how to prepare: Please make sure baby will be hungry during scheduled visit time (schedule visit close to a typical feeding time, it's difficult to get baby to latch when they are already full and milk drunk). Keep in mind it's also hard to get them to latch if they are too hungry and upset. Make sure your feeding space has some pillows or a Boppy nearby, burp cloths, and whatever feeding supplies you usually use, if baby appears too sleepy I will have you change diaper and perhaps clothes to get them to wake up. If pumping, be sure you have your pump ready to go! I may need to observe you pump for a few minutes, along with checking flange sizing and parts. If you have any ruler or sizing tool (looks like a stencil with lots of circles on it) that came with your pump this can be super helpful so be sure to have it with you! Please try to minimize noise and distractions so we can focus on breastfeeding. If you are able to have someone there to assist you this is best. It's great if dad is available for the appointment (or anyone that assists in caring for your baby), they can learn alongside you and understand how best to assist you. All forms for your client profile need to be completed prior to our appointment unless I have personally scheduled an emergency session.
